Newton Et Cetera Shop is a non-profit thrift shop with a mission to be a Christian resource for meeting human need by raising money for Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and the local community through the sale of donated items; providing quality, affordable, recycled merchandise for the community; and encouraging stewardship and recycling. Since our opening in 1976, Newton Et Cetera Shop has donated over $4,000,000 to MCC.

In 2012, Et Cetera also began setting aside ten percent of its proceeds for local community giving. Each spring since, we have invited qualified organizations to apply for a grant from our Local Giving Fund. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- hold legal non-profit status
- operate out of and serve at least one of the following local communities: Newton, North Newton, Hesston, Goessel, Moundridge, Whitewater, Elbing, Halstead, Walton
- operate in a manner consistent with the mission of MCC (need not have religious affiliation or mission): Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), a worldwide ministry of Anabaptist churches, shares God’s love and compassion for all in the name of Christ by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice. MCC envisions communities worldwide in right relationship with God, one another and creation.
- able to provide promotional information featuring your organization if requested
